Each year around the same time, France honours a country, a culture, or a nation. The 2011 cultural season focuses on Mexico. So after Turkey, and its creative dynamism in 2009, we explored the richness of cultural and historical exchanges between France and Russia in 2010.

From January to December 2011, a programme of more than 200 events (cultural, educational … ) offers the public the opportunity to discover colours, art, images, flavours, etc. associated with Mexico. From the artistic avant-garde to the bright and festive atmosphere of popular celebrations, all forms of expression will be represented during the Year of Mexico in France.

Among the highlights of this Mexican year, don’t miss the giant statues by Jose Rivelino evoking pre-Colombian mysteries, the Mexican “electronic fiesta” in the centre of Paris; the Mexican contemporary art scene at the Musée d’Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris, the exhibition of the major painter Rufino Tamayo at the Petit Palais …
