Paris
Description :
Booksellers started plying their trade as peddlers in the 16th century. Banned at first, they were later granted the right to sell their wares by the city authorities. Present along 3 kilometres of the Seine and declared a UNESCO world heritage site, these 240 booksellers operate from 900 “green boxes” showcasing around 300,000 antique books, reviews, stamps and cards.
