Opened in 1928, this cinema enjoyed the support of Jean Cocteau and Abel Gance. Le Studio 28 is the only cinema on the Butte Montmartre and one of the oldest in Paris, celebrating its 80th birthday in 2008. Along with a foyer hosting work by one artist a month, the cinema boasts a bar and a covered garden decorated with a fresco dedicated to the French cinematic arts.
Its selection policy has always focused on auteur films shown in their original language. More than an art house cinema, Le Studio 28 is a neighbourhood cinema and popular with local residents.
