So that you don't have to carry your bags around with you, left-luggage lockers are available in some of the main train stations. Keep hold of the ticket from your locker which will enable you to retrieve your luggage. It is advisable not to place objets of value in the lockers - the things you place there remain your own responsibility. Bicycles are not permitted. The deposit price (pa
yable in coins, make sure you have some change handy) depends on the size of the locker: 3.40 euros(1), 5 euros (1) or 7.5 euros (1) for up to 72 hrs. (In Paris-Montparnasse station, a certain number of lockers accept payment by credit card). In other stations, you can place your luggage in the manned offices, prices are: 4.50 euros (1) per item (suitcase, package), for each 24 hrs, 5.30 euros (1) per bicycle, wheelchair, or carriage, for each 24 hrs. Due to the "Vigipirate" security measures, the left-luggage offices in the following stations are closed: Gare Montparnasse, Gare St Lazare, Gare d'Austerlitz. Those that are open: Gare du Nord, Gare de l'Est and Gare de Lyon.
