Tourisme & Handicap label

Category / subclass :

Disabled / Associations

Activity :

This association provides special equipment for people with hearing or visual impairments, in certain Parisian theatres (Comédie Française, Théatre National de Chaillot, Théatre National de la Colline, Théatre de l'Odéon, Opéra Comique and Théatre Musical de Chatelet), as well as outside the capital.
FOR BLIND AND VISUALLY-IMPAIRED PEOPLE: Cordless infra-red headsets give the spectator a description of the stage set, costumes, lighting and movement, between speeches so as not to intrude on the understanding of the performance. A programme in Braille conveys the main points of the programme distributed to the audience and a moulded relief map gives an idea of the stage set.
FOR DEAF AND HEARING-IMPAIRED PEOPLE: an individual screen allows the person to read the the actors' lines as the performance progresses. The sound effects (music, noises, voice-off) also appear. The text shown represents about 70% of the complete work. In addition, magnetic loop technology amplifies the sound.
There are also performances translated into sign language and cued speech for children.
