The ILCF Paris : Learn French in the heart of Paris

Founded in 1948, every year the ILCF welcomes 2,500 students aged 18 and upwards from all over the world, (individually or in groups), who want to learn and perfect the French language and become acquainted with French culture and civilization in a university setting.

A prestigious place: The ILCF is set in the heart of the Institut Catholique de Paris (ICP) a place of intellect and research tradition, the historical heart of Paris near the students’ Latin Quarter, the existentialists’ Saint-Germain-des-Prés (Sartre, Simone de Beauvoir) and the painters’ Montparnasse (Picasso, Modigliani, Chagall).

A team of 50 qualified and experienced teachers, all specialists of FLE (French as a Foreign Language), authors of numerous FLE publications, which accompany the students in their learning.

French programmes at the ILCF Paris include general and specialized French courses and courses on civilization. Students can choose from more than 100 different courses on the following subjects :
General French, written French, oral French, phonetics, business French
arts, cinema, culture and society, history, literature and philosophy, economy and politics.

ILCF services included with registration to any course (free): French conversation workshops ; Self-training in the languages labs; Cultural activities; Students newspaper; Students club; Alumni Club; Internet access, Wi-Fi, Computer labs; Residence card assistance; assitance in opening a bank account;
A few services are optional: Host family booking; airport transfer; University registration; University Library.

The Institut Catholique de Paris (ICP): 6 faculties, 6 institutes, 16 superior schools, 3 skill areas (Letters, Languages and Human Sciences) Science and Engineering; Theology and Religious Sciences.

The ILCF is a CCIP centre of examinations and assesses students with the following exams:
- TEF (Test of evaluation of French) + CFP, CFTH, DFA1, DFA2, DAFA (business French)
- DEC Diploma of Civilization studies (in three chosen subjects: History and society, art or literature): Institut Catholique de Paris diploma.

Semester Courses (4 months or more) from 3 to 30 hours per week (September to January/ February to June)
Monthly courses from 15 to 30 hours per week (May, June, July, August, September, January, February)
Evening courses (Tuesday and Thursday, 7-9pm)
