Céline Excoffon, a graduate from the Ecole du Louvre and Arnaud le Canu, an expert in content distribution came to the same conclusion: whatever the season, Paris is best explored on foot and yet there are currently no available applications designed to easily navigate the city. It seems equally impossible to find quality information about the city that is both amusing and cultural.
After months of writing and editing, the duo is here to present the iPhone application they have been dreaming of: Urban Trip!
Céline narrates the stories of 151 sites, from the Musée d'Orsay to the Tropical Aquarium and the Roman Arenas, that together tell the greater history of Paris.
The texts are written like news articles and hold several layers of information: a title, a catcher, a sub-heading, an article and a time reference. Easy to read and easy to absorb!
Explorers can also choose from a selection of historical figures related to the site they are visiting; there are some 131 biographies in the gallery.
Urban Trip offers just the right dose of information, won't overload the reader, and explores the areas without which the city could not be understood: its art and architecture and urban development and history. The skilful presentation of these people and places can be enjoyed by all, whether you are a new-comer to the city or an old-hat. The application is easy and light to use for both expert and novice i-explorers.
