The capital is providing visitors with “welcome ambassadors” from April onwards with the opening of the first seasonal information kiosks as part of the “I Love Summer in Paris” operation. Luxury hotel Le Bristol recently unveiled some of the amenities to be found in its new wing, scheduled to open in November, while the opening of the Kadist Art Foundation is further proof of the importance of contemporary art on the Paris cultural scene. | | Trends
A walk in the woods. There’s no doubt about it: spring has definitely sprung. Green tufts are sprouting on the tips of slender tree branches and the woods of Paris will soon offer deep and pleasant shade in the hot midday sun. Located on the edges of Paris to the east and west of the city, these two vast expanses of green are the ideal setting for an outing in the country with the family, friends or that special someone. What’s more, the Bois de Vincennes and the Bois de Boulogne are only a few metro stops from the heart of the French capital. | | In the spotlight
Paris for all. Paris is making everyday efforts to become an increasingly user-friendly city for visitors with disabilities. Whether it is by adapting roads to the needs of the disabled, issuing brochures in Braille, making wheelchair loan available at museums or organising visits in sign language, Paris is gradually adopting measures to make life in the city easier for all visitors. The label “Tourisme & Handicap” identifies places throughout France that provide services for different kinds of disability: one such place is the Paris Convention and Visitors Bureau welcome centre on Rue des Pyramides. | | Buzz on meetings
In the news regarding conference and exhibition centres this month: the renovation of the Paris-Nord Villepinte centre and the upcoming overhaul of Cnit La Défense. There’s news on the hotel front as well, with three big names — the Marriott Paris Rive Gauche Hotel & Conference Center, Pierre & Vacances and Novotel Paris Est — having added to or renovated properties. Hotspots such as Showcase and Yachts de Paris add after-hours sizzle to a stay in Paris, while new incentive events include an introduction to French cooking, wine tasting sessions and a foray into pirate territory at Disneyland Resort Paris. | | Affordable Paris
