Activity :

At the Roland Garros stadium, discover the history of tennis at the Tenniseum and take a guided tour behind the scenes. The TENNISEUM ROLAND-GARROS is the first multimedia tennis museum that explores the development of tennis throughout the centuries using the latest technology. Covering 2,200 sq m, the Tenniseum houses a permanent exhibition room and a multimedia room: 80 objects retracing the history of French tennis. There are photos and paintings, and films shown on plasma screens. Discover legendary figures of French tennis such as Suzanne Lenglen or the Musketeers, whose matches are accompanied by hitherto unpublished reports. You can also learn about how the Roland-Garros stadium itself developed and for the first time you can see the famous trophies of the French Open. Free access to bilingual computer workstations: archival films on tennis from 1897 to the present day, summaries of all the matches, and exclusive interviews with the greatest champions. A thematic exhibition room: each year a new exhibition is on display. The opening exhibition entitled “Cent objets, Cent Histoires » (One hundred items, one hundred stories), offers a never before seen look into 500 years of tennis. A multimedia library: from the first stroke of real tennis up to the latest publications (books and magazines, the latest posters…), all of these works and illustrations may be consulted on site. An educational workshop: an activity area for young children (on demand only). The COULISSES DE ROLAND GARROS: Discover the history of the Roland-Garros tournament by gaining access to the most secret corners of the stadium. Visit the areas reserved for the players, and see the famous clay surface of the Philippe Châtrier court. All guided tours are led by professional tour guides and can be conducted in French or in English. The tours last just over an hour in a relaxed atmosphere, both informative and fun. The Roland Garros stadium is open from 10am to 6pm Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, and daily during the school holidays from zone C. There are groups daily on reservation and according to availability. Closed during tournament period.
