South-east !

Visuel_intro_balade_sud-est_193_300

Let ’s head south-east !

Direction Paris’s 12th and 13th arrondissements: the huge area that is shaping up to be the new architectural face of the capital and which also boasts lots of parks and gardens.

Here, recent bold and impressive projects like the Cité de la mode et du design and the Bibliothèque nationale François-Mitterrand compete with established landmarks like the Bastille opera house or the Butte-aux Cailles district..

And in order to go from one to the other, you cross the Seine — the natural frontier between the two arrondissements. This part of the capital puts the emphasis on quiet and non-motorized forms of transport. What could be better for a pleasant walk in a place where the modern and the traditional are so closely linked?

05_1IItalie, Tolbiac and the Chinese Quarter

Quite unusual! Between the village-like Butte-aux-Cailles – so calm and yet so close to the busy heart of Paris, the Chinese Quarter – typical of any Shanghai street, and the Cité Florale – full of flowers, you will really feel as though you are in another world!
