Description

Once again the Nave of the Grand Palais is to host Art en Capital ("Art in the Capital"). For 5 days, you can discover the work of 2,500 artists (painters, sculptors, photographers, architects, engravers and so on…) at this great art fair. Open to the general public since 2006, the fair brings together artists from all different backgrounds and has become a reference point for the promotion of the current art scene. Art en Capitale strengthens links between the general public, the artists and the galleries.

Many different fairs are held as part of this event, including the Drawing and Water Painting Fair which presents works in pastel, charcoal, pencil, watercolour and even silk paper sculptures.

Nef du Grand Palais

Measuring 13,500 m², the surface area of the Nave of the Grand Palais is the largest glassed-roof space in Europe. It is the central area of the Grand Palais, which also includes the Galeries Nationales and the Palais de la Découverte. Its glass and iron architecture is typical of the 19th century and is breathtaking in its beauty and scale. Since the end of major renovation work in 2005, the Nave has housed major and sometimes unusual events throughout the year. An ice-rink, a drive-in cinema (in partnership with MK2), exhibitions open all night, electro evenings, fête de la musique, major contemporary art exhibitions, etc. There is never a dull moment at the Grand Palais! Programme and conditions on the website.
