Description

It's the moment all cycling fans have been waiting for, the last stage of the Tour de France, and the finishing line on the beautiful Avenue des Champs-Elysées in the heart of Paris. After more than three weeks of racing, through Normandy and Brittany in particular, the riders can finally push for home and celebrate the winner of the coveted yellow jersey. After having negotiated the 113 last kilometres separating Chantilly and Paris, the peloton will embark on the final circuit at the heart of the French capital. From Place de la Concorde, to the Champs-Elysées, the Quai des Tuileries, and back to the Champs-Elysées, you can cheer on the hardy riders as they whizz several times round this last circuit. This final test is usually in the hands of the sprinters, however the rest of the pack will be hoping to upset the apple cart. One thing is certain, the yellow jersey is sure to remain the property of the leader of the Tour, who can celebrate his title on the Champs-Elysées after having crossed the finish line of the Tour de France.
