For students
University refectories (known as “restos U”) are located near to the major university campuses in Paris. If you’re a student and can produce your card, you can have a full meal in these places for €2.60. The International Student card is also accepted: you will be given a meal ticket at the restaurant reception, though it may work out a little more expensive. You can also bring a friend, though again it will be a bit dearer (€6). There are 16 “restos U” and a dozen cafeterias, some of which open in the evening, at weekends and during the holidays. More details from the CROUS, the student association that runs them (if you have certain dietary restrictions, for example).
