The Wines of France
(Prepared with the collaboration of the Musée du Vin and Mme Josse) Rosé wineRosé winemaking is done either with a direct pressing, or by “bleeding”. With direct pressing, the red grapes are crushed, then pressed. The winemaking process iss identical to that for white wines. With “bleeding”, it is easier to obtain the colour. A short maceration is done during which the fermentation can begin. As soon as the colour is satisfactory, the “bleeding” takes place, by “racking” the must which will be made into a white wine. |
