Setting and interior decor
Art nouveau decor listed as a historical monument, dating back to 1899. Typical Belle Époque atmosphere.
Created in 1893, Chez Maxim was a bistro and hideout for courtesans. Today, the original intention of the place has changed; but the decor certainly hasn't. The bistro is considered a real art nouveau masterpiece with an interior inspired by wildlife, plants and feminine charm. Pierre Cardin, the famous fashion designer, subtly transformed the decor, across the three floors, into a museum showcasing this prolific era.
Today, from young clubbers to nostalgic fans, nights out at Maxim's brings together the most chic and trendy crowd in Paris. There are a number of events offered: singing performances, theatre pieces, karaoke evenings, etc.
The food is inspired by the great classics of French gastronomy, with high-quality service and ingredients. See for yourself how Chez Maxim's got their culinary reputation.
