Description
The Royal Basilica of Saint-Denis was part of a prosperous and powerful abbey during the Middle Ages and was the first monumental masterpiece of Gothic art. The royal necropolis houses the tombs of French kings and remarkable funerary sculptures dating back to between the 12th and 16th centuries (Dagobert, Pépin le Bref, François I, Catherine de Médicis, etc.).
