In the heart of Auvers-sur-Oise, at the Château d'Auvers, the « Voyage au Temps des Impressionnistes » walk-through presents impressionist paintings, by Daubigny, Pissarro, Cézanne, Monet, and Van Gogh, which mark the history of the village. With a multilingual audioguide in French, English, German, Italian, Spanish, Japanese, Russian and Chinese, relive this period thanks to audiovisual slide show projections on screens featuring almost 500 paintings (focus on the detail of a painting or establish links between the works of different artists). Discover impressionist painting by "entering" into the paintings with the same perspective as that of the painters. Videos and panels provide information on pictoral techniques used: the influence of Japonisme, the role of photography, the use of colour, painting tools, etc. To end the visit, the film “Les Chercheurs de Lumière” is shown.
