Description :

All year
Ever seen a couagga zebra, a Jackson’s hartebeest or a Sumatran tiger? No? Then it’s time you visited the Grande Galerie de l’Evolution at the Musée d’Histoire Naturelle... Previously known as the Galerie de Zoologie and renovated in 1994, the gallery offers a fascinating trip through the history of the various species. Take your children on a voyage of discovery through these vast halls where you will find 7,000 different species including extinct and endangered animals as well as sea and land creatures. Here’s your chance for a crash course in the life sciences and evolution theories while learning about the impact of human activity on Nature and animal species: the perfect family outing.

Informations :

Public establishment

Public establishment of a scientific and technical nature.

Under the soft lighting of an immense glass roof, admire the spectacular display of stuffed animals: you will swear you see them move! All around, the permenant exhibition teaches you about the diversity of the living world, the evolution of living things and Man's impact on the environment.

End June 2010: a new space is opening within the Grande Galerie de l'Evolution, the Galerie des Enfants du Muséum (childrens gallery), designed for families. Biodiversity and environmental problems are tackled in a practical and fun way: observe, touch, question and be surprised by the diversity of plants and animals living in three different environments: towns, rivers and rainforests.
