Description :

Henri Cernuschi (1821-1896) bequeathed the works of Asiatic art he had collected on his long travels together with his mansion, at the edge of Parc Monceau, to the City. Rooted in the art and archaeology of ancient China, from the Neolithic period to the 13th century, the museum gives centre stage to a huge bronze Buddha, meditating opposite a bay window inundated with light.

collections of asian art as well as his mansion located at the
entry of Parc Monceau.
The museum shows a remarkable collection of old chinese art (pieces of pottery, jade items, ivories, bronzes, statuettes), and also beautiful contemporary paintings.
It often organizes exhibitions on oriental art.
Library (with appointment), readings, literary meetings, calligraphy and oriental painting demonstrations.
