Description :
Passionate about ancient art and unrecognised treasures, one of Paris’s most beautiful churches near the charming Viviani public garden in the 5th arrondissement sits enthroned in the shade of the oldest tree in Paris; it is the Eglise Saint Julien le Pauvre.
Built in the 12th century by Cluniac monks on the foundations of a 6th century church, the Eglise Saint Julien le Pauvre is considered one of the most ancient religious monuments in the capital.
Full of unrivalled gothic charm and a past rich in events, the old Parisian dame attracts numerous visitors each year looking for history and authenticity.
Above all, don’t forget to look inside this listed historical monument, where visitors contemplate its magnificent iconostasis with its icons and paintings.
