Establishment of a scientific and technical nature
Open in 1898, the galleries of Paleontology and comparative Anatomy present specimens of a high historical and scientific value like dinosaurs, mammoths, the skeleton of Louis XV's rhinoceros and of the Southern Right Whale, etc. The Gallery of Paleontology enables us to discover a wonderful collection of fossils of vertebrate and invertebrate animals, which retraces more than 600 million years of Living history. The Gallery of comparative Anatomy gives an overview of the organisation and classification of present vertebrate animals, with more than one thousand skeletons.
