Musée Cognacq-Jay

Museum

District : Marais / Les Halles

Description :

At the heart of the Marais, the Musée Cognac-Jay houses the private collection of art lover Ernest Cognac-Jay, the founder of the La Samaritaine department store.
Like many rich art collectors in the 19th century, he particularly admired 18th century art for its elegance and sophistication.
Housed in the Hôtel Donon, a rare example of a late 16th century townhouse, the museum offers an enchanting respite from a busy day in the capital.
