Description :

The Palais Bourbon, which has housed the Assemblée Nationale (the lower house of the French parliament) in its different forms since 1798, is of aristocratic origin! It was built in 1726 for Louise-Françoise, daughter of Louis XIV and Madame de Montespan, the widow of the Duc de Bourbon.

Architects of the Bourbon Palace : Giardini, Gabriel (1728). The Bourbon-Palace is open to groups invited by members of the Assemblée nationale. It is necessary to book 3 months before visit, via a member of Assemblée nationale (alphabetical ordered list of members). This member must then confirm the reservation, one month before visit. Visits are organized for groups of 50 people maximum and are free. On Tuesday and Wednesday from 2.30pm to 4.30pm (free questions to the Government), and during certain debates it is only possible to attend the session. In times of Assemblée nationale holidays, visits are self-guided; however audioguides are available in French, English, German and Spanish. The visitors entrance is located 33 quai d'Orsay. Adults must be able to prove their identity (national identity card or passport). The staff members are responsible for under 18s without personal identity documents and must draw up a list of names of all the visitors. Proper attire is required (long sleeves). Exit is 10 rue Aristide Briand and visitors finish the visit with the Assemblée nationale gift shop (7 rue Aristide Briand).
