The Château de Rambouillet was built in the XIVth century. It was subjected to many later modifications. It has been an official residence for Presidents of the French Republic since 1886. In the park: the Laiterie de la Reine (the Queen's Dairy) and the Chaumière des Coquillages.
In the park you can visit the Queen's Dairy and the "Chaumière des Coquillages" (Cottage of the Shelves).

1 April to 30 September: 10am - 12-midday and 2pm - 6pm.
1 October to 31 March: 10am - 12-midday / 2pm - 5pm.
The monument may be closed when the President of the French Republic is in residence.

30 minutes before the closing of the Chateau.

The guided visit is included in the entrance ticket. French, English, Spanish, Russian.

Free :
For every first Sunday of each month (November to March). Since 4 April 2009, free for under 26s belonging to the European Union and for primary and secondary school teachers (except temporary exhibitions).
