Description :
This is the oldest aeronautics museum in the world! Initially it was established in Chalais-Meudon in 1921, and then as it grew in size it was transferred elsewhere...
In 1973, as part of the new Paris-Charles-de-Gaulle airport project, it was decided to bring together its collections at the prestigious site that is Le Bourget airport. This outstanding collection, devoted to ballooning, aviation and space, groups no less than 19,595 objects and documents, relating the history of flight in all its forms, from the 15th century to the present day.

The Musée de l'Air et de l'Espace de l’Aéroport de Paris - Le Bourget is an exceptional place with a history closely linked to the beginning of aviation and with unique collections.
This air and space museum of the Paris Le Bourget airport is also the legendary arrival point for Charles Lindbergh after his crossing of the Atlantic and renowned for aero-space science…Today, you can discover over 150 original planes as well as many works of art on the theme of balloons from the 18th to the 19th centuries.
With life-size models of the Ariane 1 and 5 rockets, you will be able to admire spatial objects.
The only museum in the world to have 2 Concordes: prototype 001 and Sierra Delta and you will be able to visit a Boeing 747. The museum also has a 53-seater planetarium.
The documentation centre, which has some of the richest collections of books and photos in Europe may be consulted on prior request: tel 01 49 92 70 20 and on the first two Saturdays in the month without a booking.
