Informations :

Les Arts Décoratifs

The new Musée des Arts décoratifs re-opened in September 2006, entirely renovated, with original sound and lighting as before. The museum brings together the representative productions from some of the greatest factories, artists, artisans and designers, be they cabinetmakers, goldsmiths, ceramicists, glassblowers or designers. The Decorative Arts is the only institution in the world able to pay tribute to all these names which made French styles and taste so famous: Boulle, Sèvres, Aubusson... All the trends are represented: from gothic to Louis XVI, from the Directoire to art nouveau, from art deco to design. The Musée des Arts décoratifs also has a jewellery gallery, toy gallery and a gallery devoted to Jean Dubuffet. - Mode et Textile (Fashion and fabrics). More than 81,000 works retrace the development of costume and accessories from the Regency period to the present day.
