Description :

Located within the Palais de Chaillot, overlooking landmarks such as Trocadéro, the Esplanade des droits de l’homme, the Eiffel Tower and the Champs de Mars, the Musée de la Marine charts... the history of the French navy and naval dockyards from the 13th century onwards through a large collection of models of ships and port installations, maps and navigational instruments.
Several of the museum’s rooms are devoted to the modern navy.
Themes such as aeronautics, fishing, boating and underwater exploration also well represented.

Discover one of the oldest maritime museums in the world: models of ships from the 17th century, naval paintings and artefacts, figureheads and current themes.

Trocadéro, the Eiffel Tower and the Champ de Mars ... the Musée National de la Marine sits at the heart of the historical district, defined by these legendary sites.
The age and the diversity of its collections makes it one of the most significant maritime museums in the world (antique and contemporary models of ships, collection pieces sized to scale, paintings, figureheads, navigation instruments, etc.). A full programme of activities, suitable for all, is a great accompaniment to the visit.
Everyone can discover the great history of maritime, from the golden age of the three masters to the legendary liners that plied the oceans.
