Park-garden-walk
District : Saint-Germain-des-Prés / Musée d'Orsay / Montparnasse
Description :
Formerly a kitchen garden, this green space is named after a 19th-century nun to whom the Virgin Mary is said to have appeared. Today, your only sighting – especially in summer – is likely to be of Parisians getting some rest and relaxation within this 7,000-sq.m. expanse of greenery and lawns. Fruit trees, vines and arbours give the garden a timeless feel.
The park starts filling up at the first hint of summer. Families, friends and lovers come to soak up sunshine on the lawns and stroll along a path in the shape of a cross in honour of the visionary nun.
