The Albert Chanot visual arts centre is a municipal centre based on the works bequeathed to the town of Clamart by Albert Chanot (1881-1963) and his wife, Lucie (1891-1973) and inaugurated in 1980.

The centre shows contemporary art exhibitions of all genres and seeks to inform school children about contemporary art through the 'Opération 4 z'arts'.
The museum has the "Tourisme & Handicap" label since 2005 for visitors with mental disabilities.
