This place which used to be the holiday venue of Stephane Mallarmé, has now become a museum which faithfully reconstructs the poet's world. Entirely renovated by the architect Bruno Donzet, today the house comprises two areas open to the public: on the ground-floor, a library and temporary exhibitions. This rememberance venue housing testimonies of this great symbolist poet, recreates the atmosphere and the ambience of his time. The decorations, the lights and furniture belonged to Mallarmé and the rooms where he lived and the garden have been layed out the way they looked at his time. In addition , the museum also presents works of Mallarmé's friends, painters and sculptors, and displays temporary exhibitions. Children's tour available for free at reception desk.
