Description
An eminent banker of belle époque Paris, Moïse de Camondo was a passionate collector of furniture and art objects of 18th-century France, amassing an important collection. In 1911 René Sergent was entrusted with the task of building a private townhouse on the edge of Parc Monceau. The Petit Trianon at Versailles served as a model, but behind the admirable decor of the wood-panelled apartments were modern features: kitchens, offices and bathrooms. This ensemble, conserved in its integrality, allows visitors to discover the taste of a great collector and to understand the function of an aristocratic residence.
Film on the history of the family.
