Bon6736 For the reassurance of knowing the address of your embassy in Paris, we have listed all the embassies here, continent by continent. If you intend to stay in Paris for longer, the town halls (“mairies”) in each arrondissement are on hand to assist you with routine administrative procedures and provide information about social and cultural events in your neighbourhood.

Embassies and Consulates

FlagsSome nationalities will require a visa to visit France. Depending on how long you wish to stay in our beautiful country, you will need to obtain:

  • a short-stay visa for 3 months maximum
  • a long-stay visa, for more than 3 months, which is compulsory in order to obtain a temporary residence permit (“carte de séjour”)

The embassy is your link with your country. You can obtain advice and assistance in case of difficulty, replace lost documents, and get help for certain procedures. Embassies and consulates are often only open in the morning. Always call to check before going in person.
