The medical equipment shops below charge according to a social-security nationally-agreed price structure.
How to hire a wheelchair? (Idem hospital beds, hoists …)
If you have French nationality a simple medical prescription will enable you to be reimbursed for the hire charge.
The same applies if you are a European citizen in possession of your European Health Insurance Card (nominative, individual and valid for one year).
If you are a no-European visitor, check whether or not your country has signed an agreement with France … like the United States for example.
If these services are covered by your personal social cover, the expenses incurred will be refunded on your return.
Chemist shops that sell or hire out medical equipment and the societies listed below will be able to respond to your hire requests.
If you do not have a prescription:
Some suppliers offer equipment hire that does not come under an agreement … Select a supplier with leading national brands from the list presented.
You will be asked to leave a deposit and the hire cost will not be reimbursed.
